Well........checking the weather forecast for the next few days, weather looks sunny and if all goes well, we will pull out of our slip in Rock Hall and head south! We are deliriously happy and I know Joe is SO glad to get going and not have to be going to work anymore!!!! Putting all that behind him and not having to deal with that any more makes the trip that much more exciting for both of us............SO...........

September 30, 2012..............we said goodbye to Summit Marina and headed south to Rock Hall, MD
picked up red and green markers and before we knew it............6/1/2-7 hrs later, we pulled into Rock Hall. Osprey Point. Nice marina...........! Dock B slip number 31
Lots of blue Herons here. First night here one came walking right past the boat.........as if to say, welcome!
One night going out to the car, a white duck came waddling down the dock. quack quack quack! 2 other ducks were in the water. Joe thinks the two ducks in the water were the parents, and this time of year is when they make their offspring go off on their own, and this little duck was sad and confused!

we see blue heron, turtles fish, and helicopters .......yes, I know helicopters aren't wildlife, but they fly over and we understand they perform maneuvers on the other side of the tree line........ interesting. Sometimes big cargo ships go by on the canal. they look like floating cities!
Joe has been "puttzin" on the boat, fixing up the water tanks, changing valves on the dingy. new stereo..........
One interesting thing that happened, I went over to Chesapeake City one day, when I came back the power was off.......2 buzzards flew into the power lines and blew off the power. they came to fix it and all was well, except for the poor buzzards.........:( !!
Georgia trip is approaching...............more later.............

Well, we moved FANTABULOUS to Summit North Marina, Monday July 16. We left Havre de Grace around 8:30am. a beautiful morning but promising to get hot! my job was to use the binoculars to find the buoys, red and green and their numbers so Joe could stay between them. We did just fine and the scenery was beautiful As we were on the Elk River, a big yellow butterfly came flying at me....... dummy me......... I forgot my camera! some of the buoys had Osprey nests on them! I hope I have other opportunities to get some pictures of them......... so we pulled into Summit around noon, and it was HOT. Joe docked the boat and then we drove back to Havre de Grace for Joe's car. Summit is a nice marina, a little more rustic, with a campground "feel" to it. the walk to the showers is 1/4 mile. in the heat..........it is quite a hike! Big cargo ships go by on the canal and wow does our boat rock! I did not see it, but felt the motion. can't wait to see one of these guys! this will be an interesting spot to stay for awhile!
